CLIENT: Motion City Soundtrack (band)

BACKGROUND: “Crooked Ways” by Motion City Soundtrack was officially released to the public in celebration of Stephanie Myers’ newest book, “Midnight Sun”. While writing this most recent instillation in the “Twilight” series, Myers took inspiration from the song, originally created for the 2008 Twilight film.

NEED: Merchandise that reflects the message and mood of “Crooked Ways”, while incorporating impactful lyrics from the song into the design. Design needed to be one color and able to be screen-printed on or stitched into deliverables.

SOLUTION/APPLICATION: A simple but effective mark, displayed both on it’s own and incorporated into a crest-like design. Lyrics frame the mark, and become a framing element that builds the crest.
